The guests are still raving about the food. It is luxury enough to even have a caterer do a party but what a caterer! We had a whole selection - Caesar Salad, the twice cooked chicken (amazing)got loads of compliments, dim sims + spring rolls kinds of things, pot of red rice so large that people actually missed it would you believe, and an amazing cheese platter (and so much more) from Mal which had lychees, cranberries, dates, the whole bit.
The portions were so generous and Chef Dave knew there would be leftovers, there always are, so some ofthe overstayers took away doggie bags – also thoughtfully provided by Dave and Anna. We both thought the Sydney crowd would pick, not eat but actually they ate much more than we expected because it was so yummy.!
People were going back for seconds and thirds! And the rest we took down to the concierges for their midnight feast! Not only did Dave do the catering but also helped me arrange drinks. This was a huge one for me too because there was a LOT of cartons to bring up for a start, and I don’t have a car.
Sommelier was Michael Mills at Vintage Cellars in Double Bay who picked great wines and beer within our budget. They also have a buy back what you don’t use. Did I mention that Chef bought plates and cutlery, napkins included. So basically they were ‘so much more than catering’ to me and thanks to them, the party went amazingly well with very special energy, and I was (almost) completely stress free to be able to enjoy my guests.

Yesterday was a great success. The food you provided was excellent and we had many compliments about all of it, but in particular the peking duck pancakes (all of which were eaten), rice paper rolls (again by the time everyone had left these were gone too!) and the prawn skewers. As you said the quantity was ample- no one went away hungry.

It is with pleasure I write this letter of appreciation for the outstanding service we received by your company at the Christening of our son, Rory, on 22nd January, 2006.
From the outset, our enquiries with Anna were met with enthusiasm and understanding. We just knew she had “handled this all before” and immediately felt confident in her ability to cater for our function. She made a few suggestions we had not originally thought of, and we really benefited from her expertise.
We had a few special requests as some of our guests are vegetarian. This was no problem whatsoever and the suggestions off the menu went down like a treat. Each one of them complemented us on the food.
When the staff arrived, they were well dressed and very professional. David took over complete control of the kitchen which left us to enjoy our time with family and friends. While we socialised, they were discrete in preparing both hot and cold dishes with precise efficiency. When time came to eat, our food was beautifully presented and the aromas were mouth-watering. Everything was absolutely delicious and there was always plenty left for those who wanted seconds (and even thirds!!!).
We were bombarded with complements after our event which made us feel like the best hosts in the world. We know we could not have done this without the help of Davanna Catering, and in particular, David and Anna. We will definitely call you again for any future functions and have recommended you to all our friends for any future events they may have planned.
